If you are still trying to decide whether to attend the National Quartet Convention, gospel music’s largest annual event, permit me to tell you about a couple of recent developments that have occurred. First, a brand-new feature has been added this year:

LifeWay Worship has partnered with Daywind Music Group to present “Fire in the Choir: A Gospel Choral Spectacular” at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 17!

Gerald Wolfe will host this free event, along with Daywind artist Greater Vision. Additional artists confirmed to appear include Legacy Five, Perrys, Karen Peck & New River, Triumphant Quartet, Talley Trio and Austins Bridge. Other artists will be added to this lineup, of course, pending confirmation. And finally, a mass choir representing various churches in the Louisville area will round out the 90-minute worship event!

And if you like what you hear, you’ll have the opportunity to take it with you. Packets of the music presented at Fire in the Choir will be available for purchase ($5.00) immediately following the program.

Second, when the NQC heard about our plans for Fire in the Choir, they put together some wonderful package deals, exclusively for music ministers like you and me! All packages are based on two-person occupancy [one-person price shown in brackets] and include hotel with complimentary breakfast, plus evening and afternoon tickets:

Thursday Package TOTAL: $107.00 [Single price is the same]
Registration Only (Excluding Hotel) $40.00 [Single Price $20.00]

Thursday/Friday Package TOTAL: $266.00 [Single price $242]
Registration Only (Excluding Hotel) $92.00 [Single Price $46.00]

Thursday/Friday/Saturday TOTAL: $425.00 [Single Price $378]
Registration Only (Excluding Hotel) $144.00 [Single Price 72.00]
Of course, if you’re planning to attend the NQC all week, your best deal would be one of the all-inclusive, 6-day vacation packages. You’ll find those details under the “Vacation Package” portion of the NQC Web site [www.natqc.com].

There’s nothing quite like watching a congregation spring to life by way of a choir’s delivery of a rock-solid gospel tune. Daywind Music Group and LifeWay Worship recognize the importance of the choir’s role in worship, so we are fired up about bringing fire back to the choir.
We hope to see you in Louisville this September!
